Spring Fever
On our way home from Downata (water aerobics) we were jabbering and Alice said she had planted herbs and they were all coming up. It reminded me that I had little packets left from last year and the pots and even a little potting soil. So after getting breakfast over with, I replanted Mom's funeral planter (that I have just about let die) and planted some herbs to get started for outside planting in a few months. Now, if I can just remember to water them!! And, oh, how I wish it would warm up and the sun would shine!! But this week is supposed to be exceptionally cold for February. I do have a case of spring fever. Don't know of a thing I can take to make it go away, except for a trip to the tropics!!!

A Pet's Passing

Sammy, the pig, passed away over the weekend. She would have been 14 years old this summer, but I know she is so much happier and is probably running and playing with Tosha (the cat). They were great buddies in their early days. She hasn't been very mobile for the last couple of years as her little hooves had grown so long and she just wouldn't let us clip them without getting all mad and retreating into her condo. And, believe me, you don't mess with a pig in her condo!! We are now completely petless for the first time in over 32 years. No cows, horses, dogs, cats, hamsters, or pigs. Completely petless!! Will miss her cuteness, but . . .
- no more pig poop to clean up
- can burn the condo
- can take down and burn fence
- can leave home overnight without rushing home first thing to feed the pig

A Great Beginning to a New Year!!
Snow and cold, some blue and a lot of gray, then BAM!! it all looks sunny and bright with the arrival of little Dane Verlin Williams, our most recent addition to the Williams family. Congrats to Shawn and Brook and family on their fourth. What brave souls they are!! He arrived at 9:09 am on 1/11/2011 and weighed in at 5 lbs 11 1/2 oz. We took a trip to Logan to meet the little guy and had the opportuniy to take a few pictures. And, he is royalty, as he is the first baby of 2011 in the Malad valley area. I hope Brook gets a lot of rest while in the hospital as her hands will be full when she gets home and Shawn will be doing shift work, so won't always be available. Kris is such a good mom and grandma and helps that little family out a lot. I admire her patience.
Coming home, just out of Logan, we hit a brief patch of fog so thick I couldn't see the road stripes or reflectors. SCAREY!!! I was so afraid of running off the road into the swamp! I am grateful for guidance in my life that keeps me between the reflectors and on my side of the road. Really. It must be so gray and bleak and scarey without it. It was such an eye opener and I think I scared poor Brad to death.
Brad is going swimming with me at Downata. I knew he would enjoy it if I could get him there just once. And he's a pretty good car-pooler too. Fits right in with us and off we go. It's been a good week and it's only Wednesday. Wow!!
Well, enough for today. This month is almost half over and my accomplishments have been minimal. Must get up out of this chair and do something, even if it's wrong. Maybe more blogging classes or scrapbooking classes, but then, that would not get me out of this chair. However, I did exercise this morning so maybe I could sit just a little longer . . . . hmmmmmm. Til next time . . . .
