The McCammon cemetery is always so pretty and especially so on Memorial Day. Brad and I go over and clean up the stone and leave pots of mums. This year we left three pots, as Robert is buried there with Mom. Still waiting on his footstone so others will know this is his final resting place. I used to bring cute little decorations over year round, but they would disappear. Not sure if others were taking them or the grounds keeper didn't allow them. I gave up. Mom, Dad, and Robert -- miss and love you guys . . .

Haven't made it to Burley for a couple of years to decorate and remember, so made the trip this year. Brad really enjoys rode trips. Years ago, Mom and I made this same trip and found the small little markers for her grandparent's graves and her little sister's grave and she paid to have nice headstones done for them both. And ever since then, we have tried to make it to Burley to leave flowers and check on things. This was important to Mom. She loved family.
Lots of Spring rain and cooler temps made for a beautiful Samaria Cemetery this year. Lots of pretty plants decorated Brad's mother's grave (Kay).
We were at the cemetery early on Memorial Day (to beat the crowds) and guess who was there? Shawn in full uniform with his kids. He was there to help them understand the meaning and importance of that day. I think this is a fitting and great picture and I am so very proud of him and his family. They were all dressed up and showing respect and I'm afraid I didn't set the best example when I arrive in jeans. I remember when Memorial Day meant family reunions for the Williams bunch, but that doesn't happen anymore. Those that were in charge, have gotten older and not many were attending. It doesn't seem like family ties are all that important any more. Are we too busy?? I don't know. In the end, that's what it's all about -- Family.
Love the American Legion and their willingness to travel around the valley and play taps and do the gun salute. In Samaria, it echoes off the mountain and sounds so cool. Thanks, guys!!
